Intake Health (Raleigh, NC) announced the launch of Generation 2 of its InFlow hydration education and tracking technology.

InFlow 2 was originally developed for elite sports nutrition programs and is utilized by numerous major American sports leagues including the National Football League (NFL), National Hockey League (NHL), National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Soccer (MLS) and Major League Baseball (MLB), the company said.

According to the company, InFlow not only solidified its presence in professional sports, but has also become a de facto standard for athlete hydration education in Division I university settings. It is also being increasingly adopted in both colleges and high schools.

InFlow 2 was designed to significantly reduce maintenance times for staff. It now lasts all season once installed and is enhanced by state-of-the-art machine learning models to offer more precise hydration tests, the company said. The new algorithms can accommodate wider range of supplements.

InFlow 2 is available for a price of $299, less than half the price of its predecessor. The lower price to to enable schools and amateur sports teams to have access to the technology, the company said.

“Our mission is to extend health spans for everyone. While we started in elite sports, we’ve worked hard to release a more accessible product that can expand hydration education to more athletes,” said Intake Health CEO Michael Bender. “With InFlow 2, we’re excited to empower trainers working with athletes at all levels to better educated their athletes earlier about proper hydration behaviors and to maintain healthy hydration levels.”
